National Directorate The Judiciary Police, through the Southern Directorate, located and arrested a 28-year-old man in Mértola, strongly suspected of attempted murder against another 25-year-old man on September 26, in Loulé. The events occurred following a dispute over debts, which is believed to be related to drug trafficking, given that both were found in possession of hashish. The victim, stabbed with a bladed weapon, suffered abdominal injuries. The severity of the inflicted wounds required the activation of emergency services and transport to the Faro hospital, where the man remains hospitalized. The detainee, with a police record for property crimes, will be presented before the competent judicial authorities for a first judicial interrogation in order to apply coercive measures.
