On the occasion of the Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of Childbirth, organized by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Monforte and which took place between August 14 and 16, the program for August 15 began with the traditional morning reveille and musical parade with the Banda Musical Alterense, walking through the main streets of the town accompanied by the Provedor, José António Rasquinho, and by the Treasurer and Board Member of the Administrative Board, Eugénia Pereira and Joaquim Mourato, to announce the festivities and present greetings to the entire population and local official entities.
In front of the Town Hall, the festival organizers were welcomed by the Mayor, Miguel Rasquinho, accompanied by members of his Cabinet, Sara Rasquinho, Sérgio Martins, and Joaquina Duarte.
It should be noted that the logistical support and other forms of collaboration provided by the local authority are indispensable for the organization of events of this kind.
